Softcage Outdoor Armchair

The Softcage Outdoor Armchair from B&B Italia brings the past up to date with an open, coastal design. Inspired by an original 1975 design by Mario Bellini and made with a rattan frame, the attached, slightly-angled arms extend outward from the cube-shaped cage structure with contrasting, slender vertical bars. The ends of each larger cylindrical element are capped off by brass-hued anodized aluminum, with the feet finished with plastic ferrules. The load-bearing elements are robust and softly coastal, while plush cushions nestle inside the ergonomic, gently supportive contours to provide another layer of comfort. A removable cover keeps out the weather when the seat isn’t in use, while the mix of materials engages the senses.
