Key Features
Mouthblown in Murano, Italy, the Snifter Table Lamp from Mazzega 1946 substitutes aged brown liquor for a rich, warm light as a piece inspired by the classic cognac glass. It's a piece by Christophe Pillet, a designer whose work searches for simplicity and the clarity of expression. Pillet elegantly scales up the handheld snifter glass in a way that feels harmonious in the room. Muranese glass artists bring the inspiration to life by blowing and casting molten glass in what is called the Balloton technique. The casting process creates a lovely tulip silhouette and a shimmering crisscross pattern. The charming form rests on a low-key base for easy placement from table to table. Nestled inside, a single bulb produces a dazzling array of highlights and ambient glow with golden hues evocative of a spirit.
Founded by Gianni Bruno Mazzega and honoring the traditional Murano technique of glass-working, Mazzega1946 has collaborated with international designers and master artisans for over 70 years to produce elegant and contemporary lighting fixtures that take on the air of sculptures.
