Ring Doorbell Chime

I still can't believe I paid this much for a door chime - but I do like it. It has a great design, and the ring is very pleasant. It's really the politest-sounding doorbell I've ever had :-) It rings just once when you release the doorbell button. One distinct drawback is that it only has two wires coming out of the bell (most door chimes have three: one for the front door, one for the transformer and one for the optional back door). You can still wire it up to both front and back doorbells (I just did), but it takes a bit more fiddling with wires.

good quality material and finish but it is the most basic bell you can get and because of that it is not worth the price. i also find it very loud. to make it better value it needs to have features added - different sound for each door bell button (front door/back door) - ring once when button is pressed (right now it keeps on ringing as long as button is pressed. extremely annoying when someone is holding the button down) - volume adjustment - mute function (button to only give one quiet ding to use while baby is steeping, etc)

This is our second Spore doorbell chime. We put one in the kitchen of our last house and loved it. We are finishing a remodel of our new home and have not installed the chime yet. This time it will be in the entry foyer of a contemporary style house. The Spore has a retro/modern look that goes in any style home. It is small and understated and has a very pleasant ring tone.

well made, easy to hear, sounds like an old school bell

Not a ding-dong sound as the description says, but a ding-ding. Really nice ring tone that comes from a metal bell, not an electronically recorded sound. Fits into our craftsman house look but husband doesn't really like the school bell look. Easy surface mount. Kind of expensive for what it is though.
