Wattage

A measurement of the power delivered to a component of an electric circuit (allowing a one-ampere current to flow through the component under the pressure of 1 volt.)

Bulb Shape

Bulb shapes are denoted with a letter, which describes the shape, and a number, which indicates the size. The number indicates the diameter of the light bulb at its widest part in eighths of an inch.

Base

The part of the bulb that connects to the fixture and its power supply. Bulb bases are denoted with the letter E, and a number which indicates the diameter of the bulb base at its widest part in millimeters.

Average Rated Life

Rainman Ceiling Fan is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Regretful purchase It was a great looking fan but very difficult to install. We had to buy additional parts like the cathedral ceiling mount due to our slanted ceiling, but even with that balancing the fan was torture. We've had the fan a month now and it still wobbles despite our numerous attempts to balance it with the weights given to us. I'm very unhappy with the overall quality of the fan

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High-Quality Produtct I put this fan up myself in a screened-in porch, with 12 foot ceilings. It is BIG - you don't think 54 inches is that much bigger than a typical fan, but it is. This would be a bad choice for a small room, but in a big space it is great. It is exceptionally quiet, even on high and puts out an excellent volume of air. I was worried that I would have to get an extra long down rod because of the high ceiling where I put it, but no issues at all - plenty of power. It is solid and well-built. There are only two things about this fan I would change - (1) it comes with a bulb for the built-in light, which is a good thing, because it is the weirdest looking halogen bulb I have ever seen. Fortunately, it seems to be very long lasting, because I don't know where I will find another one when it burns out, and (2) this is a particularly complex install. I've put in about 5 other ceiling fans before installing this one, and I am glad that I knew what I was doing already - there are a lot more little trim pieces that have to go up in just the right order, the remote control sensor wires are so short it makes installing the sensor more difficult than it should be, even attaching the blades to the fan is a bit tricky because of the design. If you have never installed your own fan before, pay somebody to put this one up for you - and have them quote you a price before they get started.
