The Bamboo Pendant by Forestier is a fun and festive piece that brings handcrafted warmth to décor. Designed by Israeli artist Arik Levy, this fixture is constructed from slender bands of bamboo that are softly curved into a drum-shaped shade. Reminiscent of an outdoor lantern, the bamboo surrounds a cylindrical woven diffuser at its center. The outer shade is hand-painted at its upper end to add a pop of color, while its inner lamping permeates its bamboo cage to brighten a room with its soft glow.

A lamp to fit many decors

I was looking for a lamp in our new house that had a Japanese feel but would not be restricted to that decor. This one fit the bill well! I love the streams of light that filter through the "straw", casting shadows on the ceiling and wall.

Grounded in a passionate reverence for the ceaseless beauty of the natural world, it was an appreciation for the ornamental aspects of French gardens that proved to be the tipping point for Bernard Forestier to found his namesake company in 1992. His desire was to take the highly detailed architecture of topiary and apply those same aesthetics—proportionality, balance, juxtaposing clean and curvy lines—and apply those governing principles to lighting.
