Key Features

Eco-Friendly
Made in Italy
Three verticals and a series of intersecting horizontals give the Lepid Bookshelf from Kartell a structured grid that doubles as a wall composition. Patricia Urquiola designed the Lepid system around contrasting painted edges — a detail that appears as a continuous, hand-drawn line running through every intersection. Polyester-lacquered MDF panels, sourced from FSC-certified forests and connected through interlocking joins, keep the bookshelf strong and easy to assemble, ideal for a living room or study wall.

Kartell

Based in Milan, Italy, Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli and his wife, architect Anna Castelli. Originally a producer of car accessories, it was Kartell's experimentation in plastics for the home that made them famous. Stylish home accessories and lighting dominated the 1950s, with the first injection-molded furniture emerging in the 1960s. Since then, the Kartell modern furniture line has only continued to grow, including contemporary chairs, tables, sofas and more--all made out of durable, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable plastic.
