Great design that doesn't overpower
I bought two of the lights to illuminate a shelf of three sculptures. I wanted something stylish but didn't compete with art. They are exactly what was promised. The only problem was the long delivery time. I ordered and didn't hear anything for weeks. In the end, they were worth waiting for and I love them.
Nice, very small, light
The Mini Glo-Ball features a beatifully frosted glass globe on a high quality fixture. The Mini really is that: mini. It works best in a confined space, such as a bookshelf, as it may appaer a bit "lost" on any larger surface. It's too bad that it's not dimmable (or at least doesn't have a dimmer included), as the unregulated light is quite bright.
Bright, small decorative light
This is for the mini glo-ball. This light is a lot brighter than you might imagine and does not have a dimmer. I'm using it in a decorative capacity on a small shelf and it works nicely for that purpose. I have not tested it out to see if you could read by it, but I almost feel that it is bright enough to provide light for reading. Quality materials and design make this simple light attractive and a nice focal point. I imagine you could arrange several sizes together for a light sculpture. It is small so I recommend using a cut-out of the shape and size for your prospective location to see if the scale is a good fit for you.
A Beautiful Art Piece
The Glo-Ball basic is lovely at any light level and has a very convenient dimmer. We have it on a bookshelf at one end of our living room, and it looks beautiful, either on or off. It gives plenty of light when needed.
magical
I bought the small Glo-Ball to bring up the ambient lighting in my small living space. It is on the floor currently, but will soon sit on a shelf that will float low against the main wall. What I didn't realize is the quality of the light from the Glo-Ball and its beautiful dimmable glow. The light source in the beautiful and slightly distorted globe is absolutely diffused and indistinguishable. I am very happy with it, surprisingly so.
FLOS
Visionary designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, along with Tobia Scarpa, founded FLOS in 1962 in Merano, Italy aiming to revolutionize the way people experience light. Headquartered today in Bovezzo, Italy, FLOS embodies the spirit of modern Italian design, combining groundbreaking experimentation with artistic innovation—famously exemplified by their iconic cocoon lighting fixtures made by spraying resin onto steel frames.
