Key Features
Fusing traditional and cutting-edge glass-making techniques, the Ferea Table Lamp from Vistosi catches the eye like a modern sculpture in a gallery, staged with clean light. Emmanuel Babled is a hands-off designer, setting in motion ideas that put the craftsmen, techniques, and materials first. Here, Babled finds the meeting point between artisanal Murano glass and the waterjet cutting process. Glass is hand-shaped into a mushroom-like form draped in curves. A waterjet cut at the center creates a beautiful play of negative space. The table lamp’s opaque surface reduces glare and emphasizes its curves. The filters through the glass to create a mellow ambiance.
One of Italy’s most prestigious and prolific names in Murano glassmaking, Vistosi specializes in hand-blown glass lighting fixtures with an expertise that can be traced to the 1500s. Officially incorporated as Vetreria Vistosi in 1989 with the Moretti family, Vistosi continues to invest in new technologies and methods of production compatible with the historical craft, resulting in an extensive collection of highly decorative yet durable lighting designs.
