The Dempsey Buffet Lamp from Uttermost centers on a mysterious black dolomite marble orb that seems to float between brass elements. John Kowalski's design plays with gravitational expectations - the weighty marble appears to defy physics as it hovers above the square base. The brass stem rises confidently upward, creating a pleasing vertical line that draws the eye naturally to the tailored linen shade. This lamp brings an artistic sensibility to any space while maintaining clean lines and purposeful design choices.

Uttermost

The Uttermost venture started in 1975 when Bob and Belle Cooper opened shop in Rocky Mountain, Virginia, largely as a manufacturer of mirrors. Still family owned, Uttermost has expanded to include many more lighting fixtures in their line and has a branch in Riverside, California as well as a strong working relationship with their employees in Guanxi, China.
