Clear Modern Decorative Trims for Recessed Lighting

Why We Love Decorative Recessed Lighting Trims

Often thought of as a purely functional form of ceiling lighting, recessed fixtures have the ability to be decorative too. Decorative recessed lighting trims add a bit of noticeable flair to the ceiling, while also offering a wealth of overhead illumination. Ornate shapes and intricate patterns make this style of can lighting just as decorative as gorgeous pendants or a contemporary chandelier.

Where Decorative Recessed Lights Work Best

Any room of the house can benefit from the addition of eye-catching ceiling lights, including recessed lighting. Living rooms are the most likely candidate for decorative recessed light covers where they can be put on display for guests to notice. When paired with track lighting or picture lights to highlight any artwork you have in the room, you'll have a well-lit living space. Kitchens also happily welcome well-chosen can lights to provide exceptional task lighting, making common kitchen tasks like food prep and cleaning a breeze. Consider a set of decorative trim rings for hallway lighting too, and use them in the entrway to make a great first impression.

Decorative Trims for Every Style

Say goodbye to simple lighting functionality and add a splash of personality to your ceilings. These fixtures take inspiration from other decorative lighting, including chandeliers, colorful pendants and more. For contemporary spaces or homes decorated with more traditional color patterns, these recessed trims deliver the noteworthy impact you need. WAC Lighting's collection of beauty spots create brilliant spotlighting on your ceilings and introduce popping colors from multi-faceted crystal shades. Add a bit of drama to your kitchen ceiling with the trims available from FLOS. And look to any of Fabbian's crystal trims to achieve a luxurious look. Lastly, to support energy efficiency throughout your home, use LED recessed trims.

Choosing the Best Decorative Recessed Lighting Trims

The first thing to determine when choosing recessed lighting is the size of fixtures you'll need. Beauty spots and highly-decorative trims are available in a variety of sizes ranging from 2" to 4". You'll also need to be aware of the type of housing you will need. Recessed lighting housings are available for new construction homes or remodel projects, and you can choose housings that work with our without insulation. Decide the type of light source you prefer (LED, halogen, fluorescent, etc.) and review the trim's lumen output to determine just how bright it will be. And pick out any colors and finishes you will need to blend in with your rooms. Other Considerations

For another form of focused downlighting, consider track lighting. Track lighting systems offer multiple points of focused light and can cover a lot of ground. You'll find linear track systems or curved and flexible track systems (monorail lighting). Browse the selection of flush mount lighting if you have some clearance on your ceiling. Instead of mounting inside of the ceiling, these fixtures mount perfectly flush with the base of the ceiling. Finally, once you have your ceiling fixtures picked out, place them on a dimmer switch to control the amount of lighting output.
