China Chair

The China Chair from Fritz Hansen is at once artistic and eloquent, adding a sculptural dash of aesthetic appeal originating in Chinese design from the 17th and 18th centuries. A 1944 design by Hans J. Wegner, the iconic Danish designer and one of the originators of Danish Modern, his fame has spread around the globe, and the iconic chair follows along with it, showing Wegner’s conviction that furniture should be “Beautiful from all angles.”  Wegner is known for his cabinet-making and furniture design. He uses a solid wood construction enhanced by a reversible leather seat to add a layer of comfort to the smooth, sculptural form, linking handcrafted forms to the natural materials they are made from for an unforgettable design.
