As much a comfortable seat as an entrancing source of play. Crafted by Hans J. Wegner as a christening gift for a friend, the CH410 Peter’s Chair puts its function in the users’ hands as an elegant, no-tools-needed design. The celebrated Wegner brought a design approach centered on simplicity and functionality. With child safety in mind, this chair’s puzzle-like segments feature smooth, rounded corners. Each segment slots into each other in a unified wood construction. Once its puzzle is solved, one is treated to a comfortable seat that invites a formal seating posture.

Carl Hansen

In 1908, Carl Hansen founded his Danish furniture company based on the premise that high-quality craftsmanship and efficient mass production could work well together. And he was right. With an efficient mode of production in place, the company really hit its stride once it started collaborating with a relatively unknown Danish architect, Hans J. Wegner, in the late 1940s (through the 1960s). The Danish Modern designs conceived by Wegner have proven so consistently popular that Carl Hansen & Son continues to make them today.
