With the Buckle LED Chandelier from Innermost, designer Tine Leung asks pieces of steel to be like water by flowing gracefully in silhouette and creating mesmerizing reflections. This piece of functional art draws from Leung’s appreciation for modern Asian animation and illustration styles. This pendant radiates shapes like the action lines coming off a character in a manga book. The pendant’s shapes are laser-cut with plenty of curves and arranged to suggest an abstract sphere. The disappearing wire connecting the shapes gives the curves the feeling of floating overhead. LED light beaming from above enhances this feeling with a trail of highlights and an atmospheric down glow.
