Elba Incandescent Wall or Ceiling Light

I purchased two of these to feature in ceiling/wall recesses (spaces that allow for illumination to identify areas that might, at first glance, be overlooked) I like them so much I ordered two more. Interior and exterior.

The good: Love the style of it, simple and elegant. Used two to replace front hallway overhead lighting. The bad: You get more instructions on a cup of McDonald's coffee! There are *no* installation instructions. I've replaced a few household lights in my life, and this was the most difficult as there is no information whatsoever. Just a simple diagram would be all that's needed to keep you from spending a lot of time trying to figure it out. Maybe the manufacturer assumes that an electrician or someone with a lot of experience will be doing the install? Bad assumption.

I purchased two of these fixtures about 5 years ago and now both need to be replaced. The sockets have gone bad and bulbs flicker then stop working completely. Also, the glass dome can easily seize in the plastic mount and you run the risk of damage to the fixture in removing the glass.

So many sconces and flush mounts are overthought and overdecorated. Bis yields a simple, even field of light from a wonderfully minimal, lens-like enclosure.

Looks good on a white ceiling. Didn't want the lighting fixture to distract from the view or highlight ceiling height differences. Can use LED but since bulb is enclosed it won't last as long as it's rated for.
