I bought this for a Christmas present, so it hasn't yet been opened. I sure hope it's not broken as the return policy has already elapsed. We do already have two of these and love them.

I bought this lamp to replace one that I have had for about 20 years. Unfortunately, that one was destroyed. What drew me back to the Berenice again is its enormous flexibility and small profile. One can adjust it to put the light anywhere one wants it. I'm not wild about the shade color offerings. I rather miss the old blue shade. I almost knocked it down a star because it is not offered in LED which seems rather ridiculous in this day. I understand that it is offered in LED in Europe. Why not here?

I know this lamp from having them for years - the new blue glass is lighter than before which was a true French Blue - the lamp wattage is up from 35W to 50W - this may be the cause and don't know why it now has a higher wattage lamp...35W was perfect and should be frosted...not clear

I've bought about 20 of these over the years but not for about 5. Changes and safety features taken insure that I will not spec this product again: too bad
