With a striking handcrafted design and a soothing glow, the Bamboo XXL Pendant from Forestier is a captivating addition to interior décor designed by Arik Levy. A small circular canopy and fabric cord suspend the piece. Slender blades of bamboo are partially painted and form a widespread cage around its central hub. Intricate and mesmerizing, the blades angle slightly to create a distinct silhouette. A woven diffuser at its center is capped with a corresponding color, containing the piece’s lamping and emitting a warm illumination.
Grounded in a passionate reverence for the ceaseless beauty of the natural world, it was a mesmerizing appreciation for the ornamental aspects of French gardens that provided the tipping point for Bernard Forestier to found his namesake company in 1992. Remaining true to those original aesthetics -- proportionality, balance, juxtaposing clean and curvy lines -- Forestier continues to move forward, employing new material mediums and pushing stylistic boundaries while continuing to advance the core disciplines upon which the company was built.
