Made in Thailand
The Atlas Rail Tie Sculpture from Phillips Collection sets a length of untouched chamcha wood on top of slender metal figures that rise from a minimal base. They appear to strain under the load, just like the mythical Titan. Because the timber is raw, the grain changes from one to the next. No two are alike. On a coffee table in an industrial loft or a farmhouse sideboard, it adds an earthy, sculptural note.
