A retro fixture with enduring charm. Add warmth and inspiration to side table, desk, or workbench with The 113 Limited Edition Clamp Lamp from Midgard. A modern riff on the original 1919 design by Curt Fischer that so enthused Walter Gropius, he adopted it for his Bauhaus school, it crossed the Atlantic and made an enduring impression on design history. Made with focused work in mind, it uses a clamp base and sleek metal neck to support downward-facing lamping inside a rotating shade of spun aluminum, cut on the bias to spread a mix of direct downlight and reflected ambiance below.
German-based Midgard was founded by Curt Fischer in 1919. Largely considered the inventor of tractable light, Midgard lighting has a legendary history as the main supplier of lamps for the Bauhaus. Now led by David Einsiedler and Joke Rasch, Midgard lighting specializes in five designs: AYNO, K831, TYP113, Modular and Springbalanced.
