I like this little remote to keep by my bed side. Then I don't have to get up and operate the wall switch. My fans work with an App that I down loaded which I can use from my phone. If Wi-Fi is not working or my phone is not with me than the solution for me was an additional purchase of this little beauty: "Radio frequency" remote (RF). I like my remote fans. No hanging strings thank you.
