Named for the museum it was originally designed for, the Artemide Unterlinden LED Pendant gives an unexpected first impression, displaying uneven grooves on the surface left during production. The imperfections become the main design element, carving lines in the aluminum or bronze like wood grain on a tree. The flared base increases the spread of light below, which comes from the warm integrated LED light source in the top of the shade.
Since 1959, Artemide has created a wide array of modern table lamps, floor lamps, wall sconces and suspensions. Technologically advanced, and with styles ranging from clean and refined to sculptural and avant garde, many Artemide designs--especially the Tolomeo and Tizio--have become icons of contemporary lighting design.
