Good idea ruined to save a little money

hunterfan.comComes off as poor engineering. Needing batteries and putting that on the back side. This was a great idea that was widdled down to make it as cheap as possible. One it shouldn't need batteries, they're are ways to do this off the power it is already connected too. So foolish. Second if you decided to go the lazy/ cheap route work batteries, make it so the front comes off, that way you don't need to take everything apart each time your need new batteries. This screams wet had a good idea, but sacrificed it to make it cheap and easy. So dumb to ruin such a great idea that way.
Feature-wise this is a standard fan/light remote

hunterfan.comVery lazy engineering … they could've included a rechargeable battery and an on-board charger - or a transformer/rectifier bridge/capacitor to power the control electronics. Instead they have you remove the switch from the wall to replace two AAA batteries. You have to examine some camera doorbells to find equally brain-dead designs.
The worst designed wall control

hunterfan.comButtons are all flush so it is difficult to find and press the correct button, especially in the dark when looking for the light button. Also, it is battery operated which I don't understand why a wall switch hard-wired to power would be developed that way.

hunterfan.comStroppyDonkey15 is right. This is dumb. There's no reason to require batteries when you're wired in to your home. It takes 2 AAA batteries to power the remote so you can change the fan speed and dim the lights. That's 3v DC which you probably use in other home electronics that, yes, you plug into the wall using a DC power adapter that was supplied with the device. (The same AC power you are also required to connect the switch to.) It wouldn't take much electrical engineering to come up with something that's not dumb. (I've got a double wall switch. Maybe I'll put my own converter in to the blank and connect it to the battery terminals.)
