I bought 2 of the Black Umber Type 75 mini lamps to use in my guest room, which is all accented in black. These lamps are NOT black, more brown, and in some light nearly purple. I tried to accept them because the design is perfect. But had to return due to them being oddly colored.

Anglepoise

Anglepoise started in 1899 by Herbert Terry and sons. They originally sold products that used their springs, like toasters, bike seats and spring clips. It wasn't until 1931 when George Carwardine established a theory for using balanced weights with these springs that Anglepoise introduced lighting to the company.
