I used 2 suspension kits to suspend the track from the ceiling in a staircase. I was able to connect one pole to the junction box in the ceiling and the other to a blank box. I ran the wire through the pole to the connector.

I used the 24" suspension kit in my glass gallery where my ceilings are about 11' high. The track is now around 9' so the lighting is more focused on the work, and brighter. I really like the overall look of the assembly hanging from the ceiling. I installed the whole system myself without any trouble, but I am experienced in the electrical and building trades. The drywall anchors and all other parts that are included make for a very sturdy install. I would recommend a pro if you don't consider yourself handy with home projects as it involves a careful layout and drilled holes in the ceiling. Overall, I'm very happy with the products I chose from WAC.
