The Tile VJ Wall Sconce from Violaine D'Harcourt is built around a single handmade ceramic tile made in collaboration with Dutch designer Marianne Smink. Produced at a craft workshop in Coimbra, Portugal, each tile is screen-printed in natural tones, and because the process is largely manual, subtle shifts in texture and color mean no two pieces come out exactly alike. The sconce directs light indirectly, letting it spill softly off the ceramic face rather than projecting it forward.

Violaine d’Harcourt is a Paris-born, Lisbon-based lighting designer and maker whose work bridges contemporary design and artistic expression. With roots in drawing, sculpture, and modeling developed from childhood, she studied design and interior architecture in Paris and Milan before launching her eponymous lighting line—a collection of handmade, sculptural luminaires crafted to bring atmosphere and character into interior spaces.
