The Tidal Vase from Currey & Company is individually thrown, carved, and glazed by women artisans, with the surface worked to depict crabs and an octopus wrapping around the body of the ceramic form. The carving is done by hand, so the depth and detail of each figure shifts slightly from piece to piece, giving every vase a degree of individuality that mass production couldn't replicate. Because the vase is not watertight, it should be lined before use with fresh flowers.
