Swanson Ceiling Fan

I finally had a chance to get my Hunter 52" Swanson Bowl Fan out of the box and up in the air. From past experience, I was worried it would be difficult to install, but I was surprised by how few steps there were for installation. It took a little bit to follow/understand the directions but it was pretty easy once I figured it out. I like that there were two light bulbs included; however, there were not LED bulbs. The fan overall looks great and the fan fits perfectly with our color scheme. The gray, rustic color of the blades is perfect.

I've been needing to change out the smaller builder grade ceiling fan in my master bedroom for a bigger more appropriately sized one. I live in Texas and this unprecedented heat wave forced me to complete this DIY project sooner than expected. I'm very excited to use the Hunter 52" Swanson Bowl - Matte Black. The housing color is matte black. On one side of the blades the color is matte black and on the other side is light gray oak. This fan fits the aesthetic of my bedroom. It works well and is good quality. The size is better and pushes more air than my old smaller ceiling fan.

I'm not really loyal to any brand of ceiling fan but the name Hunter has been around for a long time. This is easy to use and almost silent. I end up leaving it on all the time because it's so quiet. I live in a very warm area and it really does help with the hvac bills.

BE SURE TO TURN ON THE FAN AND LIGHT WITH THE PULL SWITCH (AT THE FAN) EVEN IF YOU INTEND TO ONLY USE THE WALL SWITCHES. After receiving I immediately assembled and mounted the fan and put the ladder back in the garage. When I attempted to turn it on at the wall switch, "nothing". I set to work COMPLETLY disassembling it to check the electrical connections, and they were all good. It was then that I read the troubleshooting guide. There it instructs you to make sure the fan is on at the pull switch. I never even considered that because I was never going to use the pull chains (with a 12' ceiling) and in fact did not even attach the chain extensions. However, I suppose it makes sense that they come from the factory in the OFF position. I then had to get the ladder back out and reassemble it, and guess what, it worked perfectly.

This is a great running and terrific looking quiet fan. The only complaint that I have is the included instructions were terrible. If I were someone who never installed a ceiling fan, it would have taken me a long time to install this fan. But I have installed many ceiling fans before this one so for me it was simple.
