The Santiago de Borja Vase from Serax rises into a tall, slightly tapered body with two uneven loop handles set on opposite sides. Designed by Shirley Villavicencio Pizango, each side of the vase features a different hand-painted illustration, so the piece changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed. Made from stoneware, the surface holds visible brushstrokes rather than a smooth, uniform coat. With an artwork painted entirely by hand, no two vases share the same combination of illustrations, and each one is treated as an individual piece rather than a repeated pattern.
