As Oliver Schick’s debut design for GUBI, the GUBI Ronde Pendant is a classic yet bold shape, appearing as a water vessel that was tilted upside down. The spun aluminum shade is coated with a heavy matte finish while the interior is left white, projecting a strong down light from the center. Light floods from the open top as well, directed by the curve of the upper lip that adorns the bell shade.

Nice look, tricky installation

The pendant lamp looks great in my white kitchen, while the shape adds a little tweak. As mentioned on other reviews, the canopy is smaller than usual drywall cut (the diameter is only 4"). I had to buy a 5.5" goof ring from Tech Lighting separately, and it works perfect.

Loving the low profile of these Gubi fixtures. The shape lends itself well to any environment with a clean and airy finish

Nice fixture - expensive for what it is

Picture represents it well, but there isn't much more to it. Fairly cheap hardware (canopy, lighting element, with plastic parts aplenty). Probably costs $20 to manufacture - electrician asked if I got it at Ikea. Would benefit from some diffusers - regret not getting a vintage piece from lightolier that was similar - would have cost less to refinish and rewire and would have been a much better fixture in the end. Also, canopy is for european electric boxes. Many if I had roughed in a specialty electric box ahead of time it would have worked but a standard rough-in round electrical box was left exposed by the under-sized canopy.
