An even more brilliant Battery. The Kartell Precious Battery Table Lamp has the same multifaceted shade as the original, but ups the glamour value with a metallic base. The shade looks like finely cut crystal, but it is actually made out of molded PMMA plastic. And with its rechargeable battery (via USB cable), this little cordless lamp can go anywhere to share its warm sparkle.

While the lamp is beautiful and better than appears on website. The manufacturer chose to have its name branded in garnish red on the gold part, for all to see! There was plenty of space on the undersurface of the base. But, no! The imaging on website conveniently do not reveal this aspect.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Nice lamp, but...

I bought one of these to try as a table lamp for our restaurant tables. Out of the box, it looks great. It gives out a cool light pattern on the table surface (see pic), but unfortunately in our case made the menus hard to read with the fractured light. The other thing is that the entire piece is plastic, and the high-gloss of the "brass" finish actually shows every fingerprint - so if you purchase, plan to polish often, or handle with gloves.

Kartell

Based in Milan, Italy, Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli and his wife, architect Anna Castelli. Originally a producer of car accessories, it was Kartell's experimentation in plastics for the home that made them famous. Stylish home accessories and lighting dominated the 1950s, with the first injection-molded furniture emerging in the 1960s. Since then, the Kartell modern furniture line has only continued to grow, including contemporary chairs, tables, sofas and more--all made out of durable, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable plastic.
