Comments about Portside Outdoor Pendant

While it looks just as I expected, it is poorly made. Many of the parts are plastic rather than metal, including parts that matter, like the screw nuts that keep the glass globe attached to the rest of the lamp. The glass globe itself is nice and heavy, but the it is impossible to change a lightbulb without two people (the globe and attaching ring have to be held in place until three separate nuts are screwed on). Additionally, the rod was not quite at right angles to the base. I recommend against this item if you care about quality materials. #sweepstakes

Maxim Lighting

Back in 1965, Jacob Sperling came to Los Angeles to study aeronautical engineering. Inspired by a job working for a lighting retailer, he turned his mechanical skills to the manufacture of lighting fixtures, building them in his garage and selling them out of his station wagon. In 1970, he brought brother Zvi on to help, and Maxim Lighting was born.
