The Passe Partout Round Tray from Serax is a circular piece made from carbonized ash, with a low continuous rim running around the full perimeter and a flat base that keeps the wood grain visible across the entire surface. Designed by Vincent Van Duysen, the tray carries no applied ornament — the carbonization process does all the work, darkening the ash and making the natural grain pattern more pronounced. Because the grain varies from board to board, no two trays come out of the process looking the same.
