Made in Japan
Set a soft, intimate tone in your home with the Paper Moon Saucer Table Lamp from Asano, a piece crafted in the traditional Japanese lantern tradition. With nearly a century in production, this piece reflects the artisanal traditions alive and well in Japan’s Gifu region. The lamp uses traditional techniques yet speaks to the modern and contemporary setting in its silhouette. The saucer beings as steel wire armature wrapped intricately with bamboo ribbing. The ribbing comes through in silhouette with a beautiful washi paper shade wrapping over it. When turned on, the piece is more than a warm aura; it’s a contemplative experience.

Love the design of this lamp. The size is actually big enough to even be used as a floor lamp. I shade is nicely made and it was easy to assemble. My only disappointment with the product is the hardware and the cheap clear plastic cord. I plan on buying some fabric cords and rewire it myself.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
