Artisans start by intricately wrapping a steel wire armature with delicate rings of fine bamboo. Often used in origami for its strength and rich texture, washi paper serves as the lamp’s beautiful shade. Without being plugged in, the cone form brings a meditative quality to the room. When turned on, the lamp’s craftsmanship is revealed in silhouette as a gradient of warm ambient light tapers towards the top.
