The Cesta Outdoor Table Lamps from Santa & Cole outfits the familiar basket-inspired piece with robust materials. Legendary Spanish designer Miguel Mila’s pieces reflected his love of inventing things. Here, Mila saw the connection between intricately woven rattan baskets and traditional handheld lanterns. Rattan baskets are suggested with the structure’s curved aluminum contours. A brief handle on top makes transport a breeze. A round polyethylene shade envelops the light source like the lantern and diffuses its light with minimal glare. The result is a golden image and a radiant aura.

Santa & Cole

Javier Santa, Gabriel Cole and Nina Maso started Barcelona-based Santa and Cole in 1985. The three focused on industrial design and sought out modern light fixtures that provided more than mass or function. They were looking for pieces that instilled a sense of serenity, culture and well-being.
