The Original 315 Desk Lamp by British lighting brand Anglepoise traces its roots to the 1940s, when the company built a version for navigators' chart tables aboard long-range maritime patrol aircraft. Reworked for today's studios and home offices, it keeps that purposeful spirit and sits on a compact square base. Unlike the rest of the family, it runs on a GU10 spotlight bulb, so the beam is brighter and more focused for detailed tasks. A rear clip holds notes, a front holder keeps pens within reach, and a notebook and pencil come in the box, ready for planning or sketching.

Anglepoise

Anglepoise started in 1899 by Herbert Terry and sons. They originally sold products that used their springs, like toasters, bike seats and spring clips. It wasn't until 1931 when George Carwardine established a theory for using balanced weights with these springs that Anglepoise introduced lighting to the company.
