Mosso Pro LED Desk Lamp

This lamp has a feature that I have not found in any other lamp. You never have to turn it on or off. To turn it on, just walk up to it and pass your hand under the head. Then it turns itself off after about 20 minutes. Yes, it's expensive but light-years ahead of the competition.

After extensive research, bought two of these, as living room reading light and bedside, replacing Tizio halogen. There are reasons its won the awards: nothing else compares. Particularly like the adjustable color temperature, like those pricey bulbs.

I didn't know whether I wanted a cool or a warm LED lamp. This one allows you to customize the level of LED light along a continuum from very warm to very cool. Just slide a finger along a groove under the lamp head to adjust the light's intensity according to your circumstances, e.g. daytime vs. nighttime, task, mood, etc. The base and arms provide a sturdy and generous radius with excellent flexibility and ease in directing the light where you want it, and then reliably holding in place. The LED light produces zero or virtually zero heat even when its intensity is cranked up. High quality materials and construction that feels solid. I purchased it in white to go with a white Eames chair, and I use this set-up primarily for reading books. I find it to be excellent in all respects.
