Designed in 1934 by Gerrit Rietveld, the Zig Zag Stoel is a wooden bolt of lightning. It makes reference to the jagged form of the Sitzgeiststuhl (Heinz & Bobo Rasch, 1927) while reinterpreting the original steel cantilevered chair created by Mart Stam in 1926. The Vitra Miniature Zig Zag Stoel is a perfect 1:6 scale model of the original.
Founded in Switzerland in 1950, Vitra produces intelligent and inspiring furniture and accessories for the home, office and other public spaces.
