Key Features

Eco-Friendly
Made in Italy
The Alessi Merdolino Toilet Brush was designed in 1993 by Stefano Giovannoni to turn the typically off-limits toilet brush into a fun and strangely inviting potted plant. The long stem of the shrub makes for a convenient handle, with a round lid just above the brush to keep it hidden when it's back in the pot/holder.

Good looking, reasonably functional

This is a fun way to have a necessary (and usually ugly) tool in your bathroom. I first saw it on a shelf in a store; it's a little less novel when seen from above if kept on your floor. The plastic is of pretty good quality--plenty sturdy for the purpose--and there's a doughnut-shaped metal weight in the bottom of the "pot" to keep it from tipping over. The bristles are pretty thick and stiff; I don't know that they'd be great for really scrubbing, but are perfectly functional for ordinary cleaning. They will shed some little plastic bits the first few times they're used.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Alessi

These household goods are born somewhere quite exquisite, somewhere between manufacturing and art. In the last 90 years, three generations of Alessi (Giovanni, Carlo, Alberto) have creatively led the company, through changes in materials (brass to stainless steel) and styles (from formal to clever and modern).
