We love the light it casts!
This urchin pendant is super high quality and the light is casts is just lovely. It has some heft too, which lends to it presentation of a high qualify fixture. Perfect for our powder! Super highly recommend.

A true show piece of contemporary design.
The contrast of how "soft" the fixture looks to its actual hard material (steel) is truly inspired by the sea creature for which it is named. I love the subtle reference to the sea, but it would be a showstopper in any modern room.
Organic yet modern
Great shape; reminiscent of sea creatures, protons, and exploding stars. The finish comes off more as brushed steel that gives the fixture a softer look.
Heavy But Unique!
We purchased this fixture for a client that wanted something more unique in their stairway. After the box arrived, I went to pick it up, expecting it would be plastic, but instead the spines are metal which makes this fixture a little hefty. We had no problem hanging it, but thank god we had a metal box in the ceiling to mount it to. I don't want to think about this think coming down on somebody's head. Ouch.
Varaluz
Manufacturing comes with the unfortunate byproduct of creating waste. In 2006, Ron Henderson founded Varaluz to tackle that problem head-on. A former aerospace engineer, Henderson saw the solution within the very problem: an endless supply of usable materials being poured into our oceans and landfills. If those same discarded pieces were reclaimed and upcycled, a company could deliver beautiful and innovative lighting fixtures while simultaneously doing good for the world.
