Key Features
A declaration of playfulness, sophistication, and inventiveness. Inspired by abstractionism, the Manifesto LED Wall Sconce from Axolight is a gripping drawing, using light as an extension of its physical materials. Creator Timo Ripatti’s pieces blur the lines between art and design. Here, Ripatti starts with the idea of playing creative with shapes. The structure produces an asymmetric composition of lines that generate flat and open rectilinear shapes. Charming circles of different scales move inside the composition for a rousing sense of movement. While the structure carries a single color, the piece uses its back pointing LEDs like paint, just like the colorful abstractionist artworks. The LEDs leave an alluring warm aura against the wall, giving the playful shapes dramatic definition.
Started in 1996, Axolight is an Italian lighting company that designs and produces high-end contemporary lighting products. Each piece is handmade in Scorzè, Venice, Italy whether standard or a custom, bespoke piece. In 2018, Axolight launched its first sustainable product made of recycled nylon, glass fiber and aluminum.
