How to Choose the Best Large Outdoor Ceiling Fan

Assess your outdoor space when choosing big outdoor ceiling fans for your home. First, think about what finish will look best in your outdoor space. For instance, for a covered deck, you might want a fan with wooden blades that complement the natural wood of the deck. Or, you might opt for a more modern fan with a metallic finish for your outdoor living area. Take the appropriate measurements to determine the exact fan size you need. Measuring a ceiling fan requires an understanding of its blade span, often represented as a diameter. As these fans are quite large in nature, you can expect to find blade spans beginning at 60". And assess the different fans to decide how many blades you desire. Some fans feature as few as three blades and as many as eight. Depending on the space you want to cool and how quiet you prefer a ceiling fan to be, the number of blades can play a big role in finding the best fixture. Lastly, consider whether you want a ceiling fan with a light. Some come with an included light kit, while others support a light kit that you purchase separately. An outdoor ceiling fan with lights can be a good choice if you plan to relax outdoors long after the sun has set.
