I ama a design freak. I tend to conceptualize a set of criteria I want a product to achieve and then I usually search fruitlessly for products that (a) appear to have adequate build quality and (b) aesthetics to match. Most of the time I am disappointed. This Lumen lamp has not disappointed. Instead, it has met or exceeded every ask I made of it. It was extremely easy to assemble—basically just plugging the lighting the base. Finally, finally a lamp provides both reach and full angular flexibility so that I am able to hide the lamp to the side of my large screen and still have it reach well in front of my screen, move fully out of the way of my screen, and move in a full180 degrees at multiple joints to permit full flexibility for illuminating my desk. While I was skeptical of the touch scale for light intensity, it is entirely facile and stable in response. And the light itself has a gleaming Bauhaus functional aesthetic that is elegant and beautifully parsimonious. Three slender bars seamlesslessly connected like animal arms extended to help enlighten the object of attention. In all, I finally found a desk lamp that did all I ask of it, and more.

Very flexible, and easy to configure for different setups. I use this mainly behind my monitor, and rotate it over my desk for other tasks that require more light. #sweepstakes

I like a dark office and cannot stand ceiling lighting but need a lot of light around the desk and for clients so ths light works great for when I need it.

This is my third Koncept Z-Bar Desk Lamp. They've got everything I (and perhaps you) need: good dimmable light, nearly infinite adjustment, and good looks. Who could ask for anything more.
