The Kastehelmi Jar is made of pressed glass with a design inspired by refreshing morning dew drops. The simple glass form is brought to life with dozens of small glass circles of varying sizes. This was in an attempt to hide the seams in the glass, yet turned into a beautifully ornate decoration that also serves a purpose. Use however you please, to store food, small items or even as a quirky serving dish for guests.

From humble beginnings as a small glass factory, today Iittala offers a wide variety of modern Scandinavian housewares that demonstrate the company's commitment to design quality and product longevity. Based in Helsinki, Finland, Iittala continues to make cookware, tableware and other home accessories that are both lovely and useful, based primarily on the forward-thinking philosophies of design icons Kaj Franck and Alvar Aalto.
