Designed by Lluis Porqueras, the Funiculi Table Lamp is a newly issued and scaled down replica of his iconic floor lamp that was originally issued in 1979. A disciplined adherent to the less-is-more branch of modern design, Porqueras strips away superfluous excess and retains the task essentials - the ability to adjust the height and angle of the shade. A balanced juxtaposition of primary shapes, the retro shade provides a contemporary counterpoint to the cylindrical (and rubber encircled) iron base.
Marset is a Barcelona-based company dedicated to creating warm contemporary lighting with a underlying sense of comfort and character, enhancing otherwise impersonal residential and commercial spaces. The Marset mood is minimalist, subtle, with an aesthetic appeal that stems from an "illuminate, not dazzle" philosophy.
