Florence Knoll
Florence Knoll is an American furniture designer known for her contributions to the world of mid-century modern design. Born in Michigan in 1917, she worked alongside her husband, Hans Knoll, to produce furniture collections throughout the 20th century that adhered to the Bauhaus design philosophy, seamlessly blending form and function in design objects that complement their surrounding interior spaces. In 1938, Florence and Hans Knoll founded the Knoll brand, known today for its distinctly modern designs intended to connect people to the environments around them.
