Comments about Orbital Floor Lamp

This lamp is beautiful lit up or not. It never fails to get a compliment. Just be sure to get the correct 40 watt E12 globes. I used frosted small globes because the clear was too bright.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

My wife and I love this lamp because it is like a sculpture even when it is not lit. When it is lit, each shade has a great "fade" effect where it is brighter in the middle and fades to darker on the edges. It is a very unique lamp and may not work in every room, but in our living room, the couches are a "modern" amoeba shape and the shapes of the shades work nicely with that. The base is certainly sturdy enough, but it is only made of folded metal -- I think if it were cast aluminum or something solid, it would bring the whole thing up a notch. Also, the bulbs are a "candelabra" base and you must get ones that are perfect spheres with a short neck. These are readily available in the U.S. at the big box hardware stores.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Foscarini

Founded on the Murano island in Venice, Italy in 1981, Foscarini started out creating blown glass-based lighting. They eventually expanded into other materials (the first being the Havana in 1993), and moved in 1994 to the Marcon area of Venice, into a building that reflected the modern aesthetic of their contemporary lighting. Success led to brand stability and swiftly growing name recognition.
