I would have preferred that the switch was integrated. Because it is a line switch on the cord, you can't find it in the dark. I am using 3 of these, all on night tables. One other concern, I don't understand why the stainless steel housing the bulb gets so hot. I selected the lamp for the contemporary design. It was just what I was looking for except for these features that I consider drawbacks.
