The Otomi Framed Textile Wall Art from Four Hands presents an original, hand-embroidered textile crafted by Otomi artists in Mexico. The tradition began in the community of San Nicolás when an Otomi woman captured inspiration from the animals, landscape, and plants around her on canvas with colored threads, beginning what is recognized today as the embroidery tradition Tenangos. Each piece takes 70 hours to make and is pinned and float-mounted over a flax backer to highlight intricate detail. It is framed in Austin, Texas, with walnut and acrylic glazing construction.
