Shade is NOT wood, it is plastic
The shade is printed to look somewhat like wood, but it is not. The edges are trimmed in paper tape. It does cast a bright and diffuse light that is pleasant though. The product description page stated that it had built-in LEDs, however it did not. It had empty GU24 sockets and the inside of the canopy stated "incandescent". I purchased LED GU24s that work fine.
