I have this in an entry hall. It is evocative of various periods and plays well with other finishes. The lamp shade is alabaster and could have been a tad more veiny, but looks great. It's a big piece but the layering makes it seem smaller, which is great for my merely 42" hallway. I have it on a dimmer, which I highly recommend.

We used these over the island to complement the Odin wall sconces, and used the bigger sized version in the small dining lounge area. The aged brass finish is gorgeous, and both the sconces and these had the same brass + alabaster in their materials, so visually communicated with each other wonderfully.
